Severe threat ends in Upstate, threat moves east

The threat of severe weather has ended in our area.

The concern for severe weather into Monday morning is in the coastal areas of North and South Carolina.

A tornado watch was issued Sunday afternoon for Spartanburg, Cherokee, Union, Laurens, and Greenwood counties in South Carolina and Rutherford County in North Carolina, but no tornadoes were reported.

Hail and wind was reported in Greenville, Spartanburg, Laruens and Greenwood counties.

Storm damage was reported across Lexington and Richland Counties with SCE&G reporting thousands of power outages Sunday night.


Skies will clear Sunday evening and temperatures will turn much cooler. Lows will approach the 30s in the mountains and 40s in the Upstate.
